Beyond how ridiculous it is that trafficking victims are being imprisoned like this in the first place
“If they are misidentified (as trafficking victims by the government), instead of helping them, it is violating their human rights,”
That’s a really fucked up sentence right there, basically saying that detaining and deporting trafficking victims themselves is fine.
How about we don’t call putting someone into a place from which they can’t leave to take them to a place where they don’t want to go ‘rescue’ or ‘shelter’.
It’s not shelter if it’s not where someone wants to be. It’s not rescue if the doors are locked.
