Inside the Tomb of Ramesses III
View inside the Tomb of Ramesses III (KV11), Valley of the Kings, West Thebes. The tomb has been open since antiquity, and has been known variously as Bruce’s Tomb (named after James Bruce who entered the tomb in 1768).
Tomb entrances gape from the walls of the Valley of the Kings. None of the tombs hold bodies any longer, carried away by looters or archaeologists, but the remarkable mortuary decorations on the walls remain.
