They’re males of two different species and the males of many beetles harmlessly wrestle in order to impress females. They aren’t really bright enough to know sometimes that there are no females around or that their opponent isn’t even their own kind anyway.

Sometimes now and the they will also just fight the female they were trying to impress in the first place like the fighting instinct forgets to switch itself off
