Relief of Tefnut
The goddess Tefnut portrayed as a woman, with the head of a lioness and a solar disc resting on her head. Tefnut is a goddess of moisture, moist air, dew and rain in Ancient Egyptian religion.
Literally translating as “That Water”, the name Tefnut has been linked to the verb ‘tfn’ meaning ‘to spit’. Detail of a wall carving from the Double Temple of Sobek and Haroeris, Kom Ombo.
