Wax Mask will be released on Blu-ray
on August 27 via Severin Films. The 1997 Italian horror was supposed to be directed by Lucio Fulci (Zombie), but he died before it went into
production. Dario Argento (Suspiria) produces.
Severin is carrying an exclusive two-disc edition for $28. The limited edition version includes a CD of Maurizio Abeni’s original motion picture soundtrack and the slipcover pictured above with art by Austin Hinderliter.
Fulci co-wrote the script with Daniele Stroppa (Witchery), but special
effect artist Sergio Stivaletti (Opera, Cemetery Man) took over
directing duties. Robert Hossein, Romina Mondello, Riccardo Serventi Longhi, Gabriella Giorgelli, and Aldo Massasso star.
Wax Mask has been scanned in 4K from the original negative, supervised by Stivaletti. It includes both English and Italian (with English subtitles) audio options with 5.1 and 2.0 audio.
