Over the past few weeks, Jewish organizations and Jewish activists have hit the streets in a mass movement against ICE. Yesterday, I participated in civil disobedience with Never Again Action and Movimiento Cosecha, marching through downtown Chicago, to the ICE center there, and then to the federal building where we shut it down, blocking all the doors. We were prepared to be arrested. As we marched and sat, we sang and gave speeches, we shared information across separate organizations to coordinate future events. Finally seeing Jewish activist organizations get out there and being visible and working with other groups to make some noise. We didn’t get quite as much action as we wanted, but we were prepared and will certainly come back in full force.
