Apparently, in 1980 Ken Campbell’s Science Fiction Theatre of Liverpool staged an opera based on “The Case of Charles Dexter Ward” by H.P. Lovecraft, with music by Camilla Saunders.
It is described as a “horror comedy,” and starred Jonathan Hyde. I wish I could find out more about this production, as this is one of my top favorites among Lovecraft’s work. I’d love to
mount a production of this starring as Charles Dexter Ward himselfread the script!
