On this day, 21 June 1908, “Women’s Sunday” took place in London when 300,000 people descended on Hyde Park to demonstrate in favour of women’s suffrage – the largest political gathering to date in the park. The press reported that the procession was “cheered at times, but heard very few unfavourable or jeering remarks”. https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/1150786288439853/?type=3
