This was the first wild bear we saw at Yellowstone! The night before, husband had pulled over at nearly every turnout to scan for bears and saw nothing. This was driving back to the campground from Mammoth. Coming up the hill we saw cars stopped in the road, assumed probably buffalo (or as husband started calling them, buffalosers), and were thrilled to discover it was actually a bear along the road. She was not a very large bear, we’re assuming either a very small female or a sub adult. She walked up the shoulder, then right as she came up to the van decided to cross the road, where she took off up the hill.
