The very next morning after our first bear sighting, we had our second! As we were pulling into the parking lot at the Fairy Falls trailhead, the 6yo said, “there’s a bear, in the woods” in that very understaited matter-of-fact way that kids have. We, of course, didn’t believe him and thought he was either mistaken or kidding (sometimes he likes to pretend to be a joker). So we were quite surprised to look over and, in fact, see another grizzly!

This guy was much larger than the first bear we saw. When we first spotted him, he was on the other side of the river. As husband was taking pictures, he strolled across the bridge that we would be taking to start our hike…coming straight towards the parking lot! Once he crossed the bridge he turned and ambled away into the trees towards the road. But it got very exciting there for a moment!
