On this day in 1971, The Abominable Dr. Phibes waltzed into theaters! Now, Ol’ Vincent Price has been in some of the grooviest spook pictures known to man and woman, but Dr. Phibes is the zenith of his considerable career in creepery! Everything about this film kicks arse: the sumptuous sets, the melodious music, the marvelously malicious murders, and Prince Vince at his absolute creepiest! It’s the greatest Art Deco revenge/monster movie of all time, and it may be the Ho-rror Comedy Supreme. Dr. Phibes has great vibes!
