On this day, 21 April 1920, the Anaconda Road massacre took place in Butte, Montana, when mine guards employed by the Anaconda company shot 17 striking mineworkers. Tom Manning was killed and the others were injured. All of them had been shot in the back as they tried to flee. No one was charged for the killing. More info here: http://bit.ly/2VeBaBc
