On this day, 18 April 1960 South Korean students began a series of demonstrations that would escalate into what became known as the April Revolution. The demonstrations and student strikes were in response to the brutal murder of Kim Chu Yol, a student and anti government protestor. The protests would eventually depose the Rhee regime, and led to brief period of civilian rule. An account of the protest is here: http://bit.ly/2XlpUjJ http://bit.ly/2Di3gkM
