This is the the first-ever direct image of a black hole. The image was released Wednesday by the Event Horizon Telescope, a two-year-old, international collaboration of scientists. The concept of a #BlackHole has captivated scientists for two centuries. Despite decades of indirect evidence supporting their existence, black holes have never been captured by #camera — until now.
