Anubis is an ancient Egyptian god associated with mummification and the afterlife, usually depicted as a canine.

First of a new set of designs for a project of mine. One of the depictions I saw the most when I started looking for references was the little black statues/figures with the gold band around the neck, which is what I kept as the theme for the whole suit.

Before I started the illustration that lead me to making this reference sheet (back in May 2018) I had NO idea that Anubis in a suit was a thing. It is.

This is not about Egypt and it’s not about deities. More soon~
