On this day, 30 March 1915, legendary Catalan anarchist and anti-Franco guerrilla fighter Francisco Sabate Llopart was born in Barcelona. After the civil war he fought in the underground resistance to the dictatorship and outlived most of his comrades, only succumbing to the bullets of the Civil Guard in 1960.
