Why is no one in the U.S. government being persecuted for these war crimes? All the crisis in the middle East are caused by Iraq invasion

Here’s an update on the individual soldiers, but no one up-top was held accountable

heres a whole documentary to just the unspeakable atrocities committed by US to iraq if you want more details. its a bit biased and sometimes paints the soldiers in a sympathetic light but overall i think its worth watching some of the fucked up shit they did and how this is was an intentional horror. obvious tw for all types of horrible shit

“I think… What happened in Iraq was a mistake” and I laugh, because I know he’s trying to be diplomatic but it wasn’t a mistake, a mistake implies it wasn’t intentional, as part of a war on the future of the middle east. Not just of their physical world, but their spiritual and mental ones. This was a war on the notion of countries like Iraq being “real countries”, after the arab spring. The 1970s middle east, with colleges and parks and young people in jeans, was a threat to the west’s hold over oil reserves. The west needs the middle east to be nothing more than a stereotype of Laurence of Arabia, so that America could swoop in and take their oil, and other natural resources. This poor bastard’s grim ruination was a part of a carefully orchestrated effort to obliterate the wellbeing of an entire region’s people.

Don’t forget that the new director of the CIA, Gina Haspel, was complicit in tortures much worse than this
