Corporal G. Romero, United States Army NBC Warfare Division, photographed secretly by an evacuating civilian during the “Trixie Event” of 1973. Casualties among both civilians and the armed forces were staggering, but very little was known regarding the details of the outbreak until the unofficial documentary “The Crazies” was released by American expatriate and conspiracy theorist Thomas Savini in 2010.
