Master of Dark Shadows will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on April 16 via MPI Media Group. The documentary celebrates the Gothic soap opera Dark Shadows - which ran on ABC for 1,225 episodes between 1966 and 1971 - and its creator, Dan Curtis.
Narrated by Ian McShane, the film offers insight from Curtis himself as well as Dark Shadows veterans Jonathan Frid, David Selby, Kathryn Leigh Scott, Lara Parker, John Karlen, Nancy Barrett, Jerry Lacy, Roger Davis, Marie Wallace, Chris Pennock and James Storm.
From director David Gregory (Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley’s Island of Dr. Moreau), the doc also features such noted admirers of Curtis’ work as Alan Ball, William F. Nolan, Herman Wouk, Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Steele, and Ben Cross, plus other colleagues and family members.
