The Valley of the Kings (Wadi Al Muluk) Pharaohs of the New Kingdom chose this site to be closer to the source of their dynastic roots in the south, they built their crypts in the hills of this barren tract west of Luxor, which is an isolated Valley dominated by the Pyramid-shape mountain peak of Al Qurn (The Horn) .Once called the Great Necropolis of Millions of Years of Pharaoh, or the place of Truth.The Valley of the Kings has 63 Magnificent Royal Tombs. t had been the site of the Royal Burials since around 2100 BC, and the Kings of the New Kingdom, ca. 1550-1069 BC.
