The Iguana with the Tongue of Fire will be released on Blu-ray on April 9 via Arrow Video. The 1971 Italian giallo film features a reversible sleeve with Graham Humphreys’ new art on one side and the original poster on the other.
It has been newly restored in 2K from the original 35mm camera negative and features uncompressed mono 1.0 LPCM audio, with original Italian and English soundtracks, titles, and credits, including newly-translated English subtitles.
An attempt to cash in on the popularity of The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, the film is directed by Riccardo Freda (The Horrible Dr. Hichcock), who was unhappy with the final product and had his name removed.
Freda co-wrote the script with Sandro Continenza (The Inglorious Bastards). Luigi Pistilli, Dagmar Lassander, Anton Diffring, Werner Pochath, and Dominique Boschero star.
