When a married couple (John Marley and Lynn Carlin) receives the news that their son (Richard Backus) died in the line of duty during the Vietnam War, they’re overcome with grief. So, when they’re told soon after that a mistake was made and their son is on his way home, they’re flooded with relief – until they see him and realize he’s not quite the same. In fact, he seems more dead than alive. 1974
