It would be cool! (Except Kodansha has the rights to Sailor Moon, not Viz… ^_^) Long ago in the early 2000′s, a bunch of local artist and writer friends and I were postulating that if DC took their female heroes and did them like shoujo manga, they would sell AWESOME. Put them all together in a big phonebook style anthology like Ribon or Nakayoshi, have each heroine have her own continuing story section and make it accessible and fun for young girls & tweens. Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Black Canary, Big Barda, Vixen, Harley Quinn, etc. Throw in Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld and you would have an actual American magical girl! Of course, that was all pie in the sky idealizing, since none of us had the connections to get anything like that done.
Teen Titans Go, Gotham, Arrow and the new Batgirl comic series have shown that if you present the hero material in the right way, you can get a huge girl audience- the trick is convincing the execs that a girl audience is a desirable thing to have!
