I really don’t like the mask in the new series

 The power of the Ghostface character was that it was a cheap Halloween costume that anyone could get a hold of (”They sell these at every FIve-and-Dime in the state.”) and that meant that ANYONE could be Ghostface. It made the character more ambiguous and harder to catch.

The new mask is far too stylized. If you wanted to catch the killer, you’d go interview all the art majors in the area. If they are not psychopaths wearing it themselves, chances are they made in on commission for someone else.
