Diabolik is the anit-James Bond when you think about it.
Not just because he is a master thief, but also because of Eva. James Bond goes through women on every mission and never sees them again, but Diabolik remains loyal to only one woman. Eva is not only the love of his life, she is his partner in every sense of the word. They share their loot as much as they share their love. Diabolik risked his life to save her when Valmont kidnapped her and tried to use her to get to him.
Yes he steals and occasionally kills. But that is real love and devotion.
