With the upcoming winter weather for the Northern Hemisphere, you fellow witches with seasonal depression or who tend to get down in the dumps during winter, here are few ways to clean off all that negativity (and have fun doing it).
Now all of these are personally my own ideas that help me whenever I’m really down so, I want to share these with you guys!
Before I continue, please make sure you know what you can and can’t put on your skin. When it comes to essential oils, please do the proper research on what can go on your skin.
[HOMEMADE BATH BOMBS]
Now I know for some of you, bath bombs are amazing when you have a little R&R time! So for you witches who make their own essential or fragrance oils
(or anyone who likes making stuff in general), this little project is right up your alley![What You’ll Need]
Dry ingredients: (By Weight, as measured on a scale.)
- Baking Soda - 8 ounces
- Citric Acid - 4 ounces
- Corn Starch - 4 ounces
- Salts - 4 ounces
Wet Ingredients:
- Water - .75 tbsp
- Essential or Fragrance Oil - 2 tsp
- Oil - 2.5 tbsp
- Food coloring - 1 or 2 drops. (Your color will look very dark in the emulsion, but will be light in the fizzies, so as to not leave rings around the tub. For this batch I used one drop red and two drops yellow. The final result will be very light peach.)
Now because I want to save room for other stuff, here’s the link to the rest of the instructions AND here’s a video, just in case you prefer that instead!
If you want to add a little extra magic into it, what I do is I focus a positive energy into the bath bombs AND bath water. Or if you want to do your own spells that’s perfectly okay too!
[HOMEMADE BATH SALTS]
Now unlike bath bombs, bath salts are easier to make. It is almost impossible to mess up and you can even add herbs into it to help lift your mood!
[What You’ll Need]
- Epsom salts or sea salt, or both
- Food coloring
- 1 or 2 teaspoons of glycerin per jar – optional, but nice, as glycerin is an effective skin moisturizer
- Essential oils
Here’s the link to the rest of the instructions!
Like I said when making the bath bombs, you can focus on putting a positive energy into the bath salts to help lift your spirits.
If you want to add a extra kick to the bath salts, I would suggest looking at some herbs to add into it. Be careful though, make sure you know what your skin can absorb and what will help. Lavender is a very good herb to add to bath salts.
[OTHER THINGS THAT CAN HELP THAT DON’T INVOLVE BATHS]
Okay so I know not every witch finds it relaxing to soak in a bath so this extra part is all of the other stuff I find relaxing whenever I’m down. Don’t be afraid to add your own suggestions, I’d love to hear what you guys have to say!
[DRINKING TEA OR ANY HOT DRINK] Since it is close to wintertime, sipping on some of your favorite tea can be relaxing. But if you like getting into the holiday spirit, hot chocolate with those mini marshmallows are great for laying back and reading your favorite book or watching an awesome show! Also a small bit of tea advice, Lemon Balm tea is great if you’re stressed out. Chamomile can also be a replacement if you prefer it over Lemon Balm tea.
[GETTING IN YOUR FAVORITE AND MOST COMFORTABLE PAJAMAS] After a long and stressful day at work, the one thing everyone wants to do is get out of their work clothes and into some nice, loose clothing. Usually, after a long relaxing bath, getting into your most comfortable clothing can help feel like you released a weight off of you.
[DO WHATEVER MAKES YOU HAPPY] Now all of these above are just suggestions. If you have something you like to do in life that makes you happy, then do it. You deserve to be happy and not be down during the winter season.
That’s all for now guys! I hope you guys have a wonder holiday season!
Hope this helps!
