- Bring a flashlight. Bring an extra battery. Bring anothter battery. Bring your headphones. Do not bring a camera.
- Set out after rain. It cleans the air.
- If a tree falls in your peripheral, it’s a warning. Be careful, you only get one.
- If a tree falls right in front of you, something is out to kill you, and something wants to project you.
- Those hooves you hear? Don’t go looking, it’s not a deer.
- You might get the urge to take your shoes off. Allow yourself to give in, if you are feeling reckless. However, no matter how familiar the ground seems, don’t let it touch your ankles. Make sure you remember your name. Not all trees are born from seeds.
- The man with the dog does have eyes. He just shares them.
- If you come across a field with cows, check the height of the grass. Does it grow above your knees? Make haste. Do not dwell on the question what the cows have eaten instead.
- You might hear your own steps echoed in the bushes. Looking will not help you. There is nothing there to see.
- It’s not thunder, it’s moaning. You are lucky their pain is keeping them occupied.
- If you visit the abandoned house, don’t close the door behind you.
- You can rest on a fallen trunk, but do not eat. You can lay your bag on a picknick bench, but remain standing.
- The carved sigs are not meant for you.
- Horses do not step in puddles for they fear they will break a leg. Horses do not step in puddles for they fear they will be dragged under.
- The shadow is not that big, it’s just closer than you think.
- The rolling fields look wonderful. Don’t stay for the sunset.

Not just making it illegal, but making being gay punishable with death.
This is one of the many reasons why I walk by every single red bucket in the run-up to Christmas. Theyβre not getting my money, I donβt care how nice the people ringing bells are.
Ever since the time they threatened to close all their soup kitchens in NYC if a law that did something as simple as allow companies to extend spousal benefits to their employeeβs same-sex domestic partners I have refused to buy from them or donate to them.Β
Itβs that time of year again! In case people donβt knowβ¦ the Salvation Army is shitty peoples.
Also, the married women are not paid (and therefore canβt qualify for assistance if they should ever divorce, etc). And worthΒ βof courseβ less than a man.
β
In the Armyβs case, the agreement for compensation is that the officer allowance be paid jointly to the husbandβthe check is written in his name. Officially, the wife is a βworker without expectation of remuneration,β and her husband receives 40 percent more of an allowance as a married man than he would as a single man.
β
To my American followers. Donβt support Salvation Army. Not only are they homophobic as shit, but Iβve also heard that they abuse a lot f homeless people.
They only care about money, please donβt donate to them and give your money to charities that actually help people
Never donβt reblog.
To be clear: this is specific to America. It is not necessarily going to be true for all countries. Please donβt boycott your own salvos without proper investigation: in many countries they do good work.
To be clear, thisΒ βThis is specific in americaβ thing is completely false. The comments above, about how the organisation believes the gays should be put to death, from Maj. Andrew Craibe were made by an Australian, in Australia, about the Australian salvation army.Β
The organisation largely follows a global doctrine, which is what Craibe was talking about. Theyβve allegedly changed the doctrine in light of all the negative PR, but itβs pretty well known that they havenβt really actually changed much beyond the occasionalΒ βHey, we donβt actively hate the gays anymoreβ message.
Itβs probably safest to just find a secular charity, or at least, a religious based one thatβs not attached to such a strong history of discrimination.
This blog is mostly so I can vent my feelings and share my interests. Other than that, I am nothing special.
If you don't like Left Wing political thought and philosophy, all things related to horror, the supernatural, the grotesque, guns or the strange, then get the fuck out. I just warned you.
