Escape from L.A. will be released on Collector’s Edition Blu-ray on April 28 via Scream Factory. Hugh Fleming designed the new cover art; the original poster will be on the reverse side.
The 1996 sequel to Escape from New York is once again directed by John Carpenter (Halloween), who co-wrote the script with frequent collaborator Debra Hill and star Kurt Russell.
Russell reprises his role as Snake Plissken. Stacy Keach, Steve Buscemi, Peter Fonda, Georges Corraface, Cliff Robertson, Pam Grier, and Bruce Campbell round out the cast.
Special features will be announced closer to the release date, but Scream Factory is attempting to secure a new transfer and promises plenty of extras.

Cancer death rates in the United States took their sharpest drop on record between 2016 and 2017, according to an analysis by the American Cancer Society.
Cancer death rates in the U.S. have been falling gradually for about three decades, typically about 1.5% a year. But during the latest study period, the cancer mortality rate dropped 2.2%, “the biggest single-year drop ever,” says Rebecca Siegel, scientific director for surveillance research at the cancer society.
“It seems to be driven by accelerating declines in lung cancer mortality,” Siegel says. That’s “very encouraging, because lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the U.S., causing more deaths than breast, colorectal and prostate cancers combined.”
What’s behind the decline? In part, smoking rates have fallen steadily, which means the biggest risk factor for lung cancer has fallen appreciably. New cancer treatments are also playing a role, Siegel says.

It’s worse, they threaten to fire employees who speak out against the company’s business practices in any way:
In the statement, the employee group claimed that Amazon changed its policy in September and that the updated policy “requires employees to seek prior approval to speak about Amazon in any public forum while identified as an employee.”
