“Our Generation has had no Great war, no Great Depression. Our war is spiritual. Our depression is our lives.”
Along with quoting George Orwell as some sort of gotcha against socialism, there will never be anything funnier than edgy righties quoting the toxic manifestation of a man’s internal view of what masculinity is as something to aspire to. Good work, dorks.
Turning a photo of a Soviet soldier during the Afghan War into fash shit anti commie incel kek memes glorifying war is pretty funny, too.
loving the posts made by dudes who’ve never once had a violent interaction in their lives talking about how “war is good, natural and manly actually”
On this day, 29 May 1830, Louise Michel, Paris Communard, anarchist and French national hero at the time, was born. She led an absolutely fascinating life. Forced to hand herself in following the Paris commune when authorities threatened to murder her mother, she was charged with trying to overthrow the government, encouraging citizens to arm themselves, possession and use of weapons, wearing a military uniform, planning to assassinate hostages and more, and was sentenced to life time deportation to the prison colony of New Caledonia. There she supported the anti-colonial uprising of the indigenous people, and returned when the communards were pardoned nearly 7 years later. She was subsequently jailed repeatedly and survived an assassination attempt when she was shot in the head. This is a full book-length biography of her incredible life: https://libcom.org/history/louise-michel-edith-thomashttps://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/1133995066785642/?type=3
“While lawns perform some important ecosystem functions, like storing carbon and carrying out photosynthesis, they are biodiversity barrens. Previous research on lawns has shown they are amazingly similar in species composition and contribute to the homogenization of urban landscapes and loss of urban biodiversity. They tend to consist of only one or two species of grass, dramatically limiting the potential wildlife they can support. And, since diversity begets diversity, the monolithic nature of lawns means fewer organisms can thrive there. Some birds, like American Robins, occasionally visit lawns; however, these heavily-mowed, often chemically-treated, water guzzling, homogeneous areas simply do not provide the elements of habitat needed for supporting the diversity of wildlife central to balanced ecological systems.”
This blog is mostly so I can vent my feelings and share my interests. Other than that, I am nothing special.
If you don't like Left Wing political thought and philosophy, all things related to horror, the supernatural, the grotesque, guns or the strange, then get the fuck out. I just warned you.
