Its so easy to brush away aphobia as “Cringey aces being dramatic on the internet on no reason lololol “ when you see “true” oppression as “people being killed for their identity” and not the numerous ways society makes marginalized community feel that they are broken,wrong and are disgusting for existing and dont belong among the society.This includes harassment on the internet too because the people harassing ace people for being ace on the internet are real people too.
Genocide is the last stage of oppression for an identity and the fact that you think that bigotry against some identity has to reach the stage where the people of that identity are being killed for them to be “truly oppressed” then you are a despicable person and have no idea how resistance and social justice work.

On this day, 28 February 1947, the 228 incident took place in Taiwan, when an anti-government uprising was violently suppressed by the nationalist Kuomintang government, killing thousands and beginning a white terror which would kill thousands more.
Economic mismanagement and corruption had worsened living standards of the poor, and the price of rice had increased over 400-fold in just 16 months of nationalist rule. Then on 27 February a government tobacco agent killed a widow selling cigarettes. The following day protests began. Security forces cracked down violently, killing several, sparking an uprising across the island.
Civilians took over large parts of the country, and formed committees to keep order and make demands of the administration, with some groups seizing weapons. On 8 March, Chinese troops from the mainland began trying to take back control, killing, mutilating and looting indiscriminately, and jailing and executing organisers.
At least 5000 were killed, including many communists, against whom a “white terror” would then begin, and last until 1987, in which tens of thousands more people were imprisoned, executed or “disappeared”.

Everybody wants to get involved, but it can be hard af to get started and it’s pretty daunting to just like jump in feet-first. Well, here are some things that anybody can do! Right now!
First off go hit that “follow” button over at @the-last-girl-scout and check out posts with tags like #useful and #afa and #organizing and #theory; that there is where I’m archiving all of the useful posts I find here on the website tumblr dot com.
And you should go join the Industrial Workers of the World! The IWW is a militant industrial union for all workers, and being a member will connect you to a worldwide network of people trying to organize their workplaces and fight for change, and they’ll teach you how to become an organizer and fight for better wages and conditions in your own workplace! It doesn’t matter if you work in this or that industry or even if you’re unemployed; the IWW is a union for all the workers!
You should also get involved with the IWW’s General Defense Committee! From the GDC’s mission statement:
“The capitalist class of bosses, financiers, landlords, and their cops wage relentless and violent class war upon the working class. The General Defense Committee (GDC) is a committee of and supports the revolutionary unionism of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). The GDC’s goal is to defend and support the entire working class, divided and under attack by those who wage class war against us. We therefore promote, through organization, action, and outreach, a mass, non-sectarian defense of the class, in order to build a self-organized working class that treats differences as strengths and opportunities to live in solidarity. Community Self Defense means we intend to build our revolutionary community precisely by defending it and the earth on which we live.”
