that is american propaganda used to justify their lack of a working healthcare system. it’s not true and even if it was what good would having slightly better healthcare do if it’s only accessible by the richest members of society?
The american middle class thinking they have access to the best medical care in the world is always depressing. For some treatments even the upper middle class would need to spend most of their wealth just to get the same level of healthcare available for free in other developed nations (and some underdeveloped ones). It’s one of the many reasons why life expectancy in the US is ranked on the same level as several third-world countries.
Additionally, american medical research is fantastic, but your works and guidelines are more beneficial to other countries than yourselves due to your fucked up healthcare system.
As someone that has grown up surrounded by beaches and done surf life saving, I know how the sea works. Lots of people dont. Every summer multiple tourists die here because they don’t respect the sea, if you’re going to the coast, here’s a thing I saw on Facebook.

All of this applies to Lake Michigan, as well. The rips aren’t as big, but they do happen. We lose tourists every year.
2nd on the Lake Michigan one or all of the Great Lakes for that matter. My grandma sat me and my sister down when were little to warn us about this.

Australian here 👋🏽 if you’re coming here for holidays and you’ve never swam at a beach before, especially densely crowded ones like Bondi or Manly in Sydney, do NOT jump straight in the water. Tourists who’ve never swam before constantly end up getting dragged by a rip and in a literal sea of people, it’s not easy to identify who needs help. Ask a local, ask a lifeguard, swim between the flags and stay safe!
