wondering what “no quarter” means?
it’s military-speak for “take no prisoners.” but is that legal?
but what about in the u.s.?
but there’s a more casual meaning of the phrase, too, that just means to treat prisoners harshly (which is also unacceptable). maybe tom cotton meant it in the more colloquial sense. why would we assume he meant it in the military sense?
so, correction: a sitting senator and former army captain is calling for the military to be deployed against protesters without taking prisoners in direction opposition to american law and international law knowing it’s a war crime because he’s a former army captain
This pile of bricks has been making the social media rounds as being “out of place”, “obviously put there to instigate violence, which we’re too smart for”, etc.
This photo is taken in Dallas Texas,and it’s even spawned its own cute lil cartoon character, even Alex Jones has taken to conspiracizing about them.
I feel like this is pretty important to realize: the cops are becoming exhausted, and there’s a limited supply of them. NYPD has every cop on duty working full days every day. We have an unlimited capacity to rotate in fresh fighters that they simply do not have. We can take shifts. They can’t.
So the secret police are interrogating people about their disagreements with fascism *in those words* and their alleged ties to an organization that doesn’t exist
