One of the biggest tragedies in music is that Trent did a remix of the Megadeth song "Symphony of Destruction". I say that because although it is a great remix, it is tainted like all Megadeth songs because Dave Mustaine is a HUGE homophobe. He went to AA and came out a bible thumping moron who did a concept album based on an Alex Jones documentary. He even denounced Judas Priest because Rob Halford is gay. That was a band that influenced him. I am sure that Trent would no approve.

Yeah I don’t have any respect for Dave Mustaine or Megadeth. It’s just my own opinion but I think the music is shit. And him being a homophobic piece of shit makes me hate the music more. Like okay makes sense lol. I have the Megadeth and Metallica tags filtered lol along with other bands. So yeah. I get it and I don’t think Trent would approve. Pretty sure he tweeted in advocacy for trans rights.

The most popular of all Egyptian amulets was the wedjat eye, which was worn to promote health and well-being. Thirteen separate wedjat eye amulets, made from faience in molds, decorate this necklace (15.JW.460). The mythological origin of this symbol is rooted in the struggle between Horus, who was the rightful heir to the throne of Osiris, his father, and Horus’s jealous uncle, Seth, who murdered Osiris. During these battles, Horus’s eye was injured and was restored to health by means of magic.

… Chandler had a knack for getting his hooks into his readers, from the get-go of page one. Through hard work, talent and, no small amount of booze, he managed to find the perfect balance of descriptive prose, heartache, and humor. I’m certainly not the only reader out there to feel this way about Chandler’s work. A while back, I happened upon an outstanding, ordered list of Chandler’s best opening hooks, compiled by Dwyer Murphy, over at Crime Reads. My all-time favorite? This chunk of Chandler’s Red Wind (which originally appeared in the Saturday Evening Post before being collected into a book of short stories with the same name).

From Red Wind:

There was a desert wind blowing that night. It was one of those hot dry Santa Anas that come down through the mountain passes and curl your hair and make your nerves jump and your skin itch. On nights like that every booze party ends in a fight. Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and study their husbands’ necks. Anything can happen. You can even get a full glass of beer at a cocktail lounge. …
