Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the US Constitution requires the US to maintain a Postal Service; it DOES NOT require that Postal Service to make a profit, so the main selling point of Republicans’ bullshit claims about USPS is completely irrelevant. All of this started as a corrupt, dishonest, underhanded way to kill a highly successful federal agency to both support the idiotic Republican talking point that ALL GUMMINT BAD!!1! and eliminate the primary competitor to the private delivery companies (like FedEx, UPS, and DHL) which many Congrassholes owned stock in, but Republicans know perfectly well that they can’t win fair elections, so 45th has appointed an anti-labor fascist responsible for millions of dollars of lawsuits over sexual harassment, racism, and causing miscarriages as Postmaster General, specifically to sabotage voting by mail during Plague Season because it will mostly keep poor people and brown people and “essential”-on-every-day-but-payday workers from voting.
