Members of Congress are about to introduce a bill that will undermine
the law that undergirds free speech on the Internet. If passed, the bill
known as the Eliminating Abusive and Rampant Neglect of Interactive Technologies (EARN IT) Act, will
fulfill a long-standing dream of U.S. law enforcement. If passed, it
could largely mark the end of private, encrypted messaging on the
Internet.
Fascists are doing what they always do: utilizing a crisis (either as an excuse or as a distraction) to consolidate power and erode our freedoms. Don’t let this go unnoticed. Speak up, spread the word
Rochester NYPD posted a scaremongering tweet supposedly showing the materials they’ve confiscated from “anarchists” coming from out of town to “destroy the community” - but forgot to remove the Threeper patch that clearly shows this came from fash, not anarchists
Not that it needed to be made that explicit - military-wannabe olive drab and paisley bandannas are boog boy staples, whereas anarchists are smart enough to know that camo won’t help much on a city street
You can see it a lot better in the full-resolution photos, but the threeper gear has a bag of zipties with it. You probably don’t need to be told why it’s alarming that infamously violent counter-protestors would bring a bag of zipties to a protest.
Protests for Dijon Kizzee continue for a week now. Police continue to make protests hostile and violent, showing up to peaceful marches in military gear with weapons out, shooting at demonstrators, and shooting journalists this past weekend. Multiple protesters have been arrested, but not the officers involved, despite video footage showing Dijon on the ground when officers opened fire.
Dijon was murdered by LAPD, who shot him 15 times in the back after he fell to the ground. He was allegedly stopped for riding his bike incorrectly (x).
