Horror Anthology Recommendations
The first episode of FREDDY’S NIGHTMARES (1988) is unarguably the best. Directed by the legendary Tobe Hooper, the episode depicts Freddy Krueger’s full backstory for the first, and really only, time. The whole thing plays out on screen like a lost A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET film, from the botched court case that allows Fred Krueger to walk away a free man all the way up to the angry mob that would end his natural life and create the dream master we know and love today. If you’re a Fredhead and you haven’t seen this you should! It ties the whole series together and is actually a pretty fascinating watch.
