“FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI: JASON LIVES” by Casey Booth
Various ads for the cancelled and never-produced 1976 film version of “Vampirella” that was planned by Hammer Studios. I find it sad this movie was never produced as it would have been worlds better than the HORRIBLE Talisa Soto version from the early 1990s.
For my 1,666th post I feel pretty obligated to post something about 1973’s “The Satanic Rites of Dracula”. This is the last of the Hammer Dracula movies to feature Christopher Lee as Dracula. It’s also a bloody mess of a movie trying to balance what seems like a spy thriller plot with a vampire movie and tossing in some of that oh-so-popular 70’s Satanism for good measure. There are also way too many scenes of people just sitting around talking and being very, painfully British. At least Peter Cushing brings a much needed breath of fresh air to the production as Van Helsing. If you want a 70s Dracula film, stick to the much more fun and goofy “Dracula A.D. 1972” instead.
