On this day, 1 November 1954, the Algerian war began as Algerians revolted against French colonial rule. The French military responded to the rebellion with extreme brutality, using widespread torture and killing hundreds of thousands of people, mostly civilians. Later on, French paramilitaries joined the conflict, carrying out terrorist attacks and murders of Algerian civilians. Back at home, French police murdered scores of people who demonstrated against French colonialism, mostly French Muslims and French Algerians, but also several white French communists. However, the anti-colonial struggle continued and ended with Algerian independence in 1962.
This is a 1959 account of the impacts of the struggle by Frantz Fanon: https://libcom.org/library/dying-colonialism-frantz-fanon

The series of tests is designed to gradually bring the rocket stage and all its systems to life for the first time — ensuring that it’s ready for missions to the Moon through the Artemis program.
To mark this critical time in the history of American spaceflight, we’ve been asking people like you — what would you take with you on a trip to the Moon? Social media users have been regaling us with their images, videos, and illustrations with the hashtag #NASAMoonKit!
Looking for a little inspiration? We asked some of our astronauts and NASA leaders the same question:
1. NASA Astronaut Chris Cassidy
NASA astronaut Chris Cassidy recently took this photo from the International Space Station and posted it to his Twitter account with this caption:
“If I was on the next mission to the Moon, I would have to bring this tiny spaceman with me! He’s flown with me on all of my missions and was in my uniform pocket for all the SEAL missions I have been a part of. Kind of like a good luck charm.”
Although Kathy Lueders is not an astronaut, she is the head of human spaceflight at NASA! Her #NASAMoonKit includes activities to keep her entertained as well as her favorite pillow.
How to Show Us What’s In Your #NASAMoonKit:
There are four social media platforms that you can use to submit your work:
Instagram: Use the Instagram app to upload your photo or video, and in the description include #NASAMoonKit
Twitter: Share your image on Twitter and include #NASAMoonKit in the tweet
Facebook: Share your image on Facebook and include #NASAMoonKit in the post
Tumblr: Share your image in Tumblr and include #NASAMoonKit in the tags
If your #NASAMoonKit catches our eye, we may share your post on our NASA social media accounts or share it on the Green Run broadcast!
President Trump has told confidants he’ll declare victory on Tuesday night if it looks like he’s “ahead,” according to three sources familiar with his private comments.
That’s even if the Electoral College outcome still hinges on large numbers of uncounted votes in key states like Pennsylvania.
….
Why it matters: Trump’s team is preparing to falsely claim that mail-in ballots counted after Nov. 3 — a legitimate count expected to favor Democrats — are evidence of election fraud.
ALSO!
Here is Trump advisor, Jason Miller, on ABC News this morning claiming that Trump will win election night and democrats will try to “”steal”” the elections by counting the mail-in votes. (Many states can’t even begin counting these ballots before Nov. 3rd + absentee military ballots won’t be available yet.)
Note that the news anchor, George Stephanopoulos, DID NOT push back on the false claim that counting mail-in ballots is “stealing.” We have absolutely NEVER counted all the ballots on election night, and it’s irresponsible for news networks not to push back on Trump and his cronies claims.
This blog is mostly so I can vent my feelings and share my interests. Other than that, I am nothing special.
If you don't like Left Wing political thought and philosophy, all things related to horror, the supernatural, the grotesque, guns or the strange, then get the fuck out. I just warned you.
