in a lot of those videos on social media where people are supposedly getting kicked off planes due to being in the capitol riot were actually kicked off for being generally disruptive or, most of the time, refusing to wear masks. the reason you see trump supporters whining in these videos is not because they’re being removed for supporting trump, it’s because a fuckton of trump supporters are against wearing masks. read articles beyond the headlines on these situations rather than out-of-context videos.
a lot of liberals seem to be desperately trying to form some heroic idea of the government saving everyone after the capitol riot when it’s not nearly as significant an effort as you think it is. remember, there were cops supposedly guarding the capitol that opened gates for protesters and took selfies with them. this was caught on video.
government law enforcement officials are not your friends. they don’t have some unbiased “protect and serve” ideology. otherwise the national guard wouldn’t be more present at peaceful blm protests (there’s a video of this I saw recently, i’ll reblog when I find it again) than a situation involving people literally breaking into the US capitol building.
oh yeah this also goes for the FBI lol, they aren’t the “good guys” either. they saw MLK as a “terrorist” threat simply for standing up against injustice in the US. today they still crack down on civil rights activists or even movements just criticizing issues under capitalism (fucking occupy wall street was monitored and suppressed by counterterrorism agents, lmao, you can look this up).

Wait until the “but we need US government intervention to protect human rights!” people learn that the concern about “human rights” here is a smokescreen for neocolonialism and imperialism.

Why has the US government contributed to the suffering and starvation of innocent people in Yemen?
Why is the US prison system making use of slave labor?
Why are people getting forcibly sterilized by ICE?
The real threat to world peace is US hegemony and people are too scared to admit it because they’ll be called unpatriotic commie terrorists or whatever.
And always question the narrative of the US government on foreign policy because time and time again we eventually learn it was all a fucking lie *cough cough WMDs*
