Marine Iguanas are the only marine lizard species in the world found only in the Galápagos Islands. They can dive as deep as 30m and hold their breath for 30-40 mins.

One of the largest unions in the United States is the Service Employees International Union. An important battle to build the 175,000 member strong SEIU Local 32BJ was a 1934 strike. Its spark was the firing of Black elevator operator Thomas Young, an immigrant worker from the Caribbean.

TW: Sexual Assault - How can I have sex again after being raped?

Someone asked us:

Hello! A few years ago I was raped by someone who i was casually hooking up with. The trauma didnt really set in until recently for whatever reason and now I get extreme anxiety over sex, when before I was very comfortable with it. I have been with my current boyfriend for 2 years but over the last year we have barely had sex over it. He is supportive and I want to heal but i just dont know what to do. Do you have any advice for recovering from sexual trauma?

I’m so sorry that you experienced a sexual assault. You deserve to have your boundaries respected at all times. Rape is traumatic and life-changing, but there are resources that can help you heal and move forward.

A good first step is talking to a trusted friend or family member, licensed counselor, or therapist about what happened. Joining a community support group can also help you process what happened and heal. Your nearest Planned Parenthood health center can connect you with services in your area. You can also contact the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN). RAINN has a 24-hour, 7-day a week support line you can reach over the phone or by online chat.

Being sexually active after being sexually assaulted might take some time. Take the space you need to heal so that when you do decide to have sex again, you can feel happy and confident about your decision.
