Now I’m just your good ol’ common garden straight person, who is well aware Pride month is not for me or about me. But I’m also aware that there’s increasing hostility towards LGBTQIA+ folks, not only in my country, but many others too, especially for those of you who are Trans. Trans folks are going through it right now, and you folks don’t deserve any of that. I want to take the time to say this publicly, that this is a safe and supportive space, and I know I’m not always going to get things right, and I’m open to gentle correction when I’m wrong because I want to make this as safe a space it can be. So with that in mind, for my LGBTQIA+ followers:
You are loved, you are seen, you are valid, and you deserve to live your lives free from harassment and stigma

Another funny anecdote about this amazing woman: at some point she was annoyed at Charles II for not yet giving any title to their son yet so when he came to visit them she called for the boy by going all “eh little bastard, come and say hi to your father!”.
Charles II was understandly shocked and was all like “babe, please don’t call our son that :(” to which she answered that if he didn’t like how she called him, he only had to give him a new title she could use. The title of Earl of Burford was created for the boy shortly after
