36 years ago today (June 21, 1985) the Tobe Hopper film Lifeforce was released to theaters.  Though it was a box office flop, I love this movie.  It’s a tale of a British Space Shuttle entering the tail of Halley’s Comet. discovering a kilometers long alien starship and accidentally unleashing energy-sucking, body-hopping space vampires on the Earth.

Greek Vase Painting of an Artist at Work

Red-figure vase depicting an artist painting a statue of Hercules, identified by his club and lion-skin cape. Greek and Roman statues were frequently painted in Antiquity, to impart a more impressive and life-like appearance. Images of artists working are extremely rare in ancient art, and this piece provides an insight into an underrepresented trade. Attributed to the Boston Group, c. 360–350 BCE. (Metropolitan Museum of Art)
