a trans woman was suspended from her job at netflix because she tweeted about dave chappelle’s transmisogyny and he’s a multimillionaire whining about being “cancelled” you cannot make this shit up

trans allies cancel your netflix subscription and put this under reasons why (and publicly post about it) challenge

also here’s the links to the articles

Many in the notes have pointed out that the reason for the suspension was that this trans woman tried to attend a meeting she wasn’t invited to.

Note the way in which the language used to describe the situation invokes images of violence and aggression.

Frequently it isn’t “tried to attend” it’s

“barged in”

“tried to force her way in”

“shoved their way in”

“crashed”

It’s not just on Tumblr either, anywhere this topic is being discussed this type of language is being used to describe the actions of this trans woman.

But why? Is it true? Well it was an online meeting. How exactly one “barges into” an online meeting is beyond me.

None of the numerous articles written about the topic at hand mention any adverse consequence caused by this trans woman attempting to attend this meeting. Yet both terfs and “allies” alike speak of it like they know for sure that it was some kind of aggressive and disruptive act.

Regarding the tweets, a Netflix spokesperson has even said “Employees are encouraged to openly disagree and we support their right to do so.”

How is suspending employees trying to address their concerns with the people who have the power to change things “encouraging open disagreement”?

At many other companies an employee attending a meeting they weren’t invited to doesn’t come close to a suspendable offense. It certainly seems to me that this suspension is implied retaliation for the tweets.

The terfs were never going to change but allies stop doing transphobes work for them by defending Netflix and baselessly describing trans women’s actions as aggressive and violent challenge

Hey y'all want a fun update to the “barging aggressively into a zoom meeting somehow” story?

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson wants to prosecute a journalist who warned the state that a government website left school teachers and administrators’ Social Security numbers exposed.

Parson called St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Josh Renaud a “hacker” and vowed to seek criminal prosecution at a press conference on Thursday. Renaud’s “crime?” Clicking “view source” on a publicly available webpage.

“The state does not take this matter lightly,” Parson said, according to the Missouri Independent. “This administration is standing up against any and all perpetrators who attempt to steal personal information and harm Missourians.”

Parson said he referred the case to the Cole County prosecutor and asked the Missouri State Highway Patrol to investigate as well.

On Wednesday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that a flaw in the state’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education left exposed the SSNs of the department employees, including teachers, administrators, and counselors. Renaud reported that the SSNs were visible simply by viewing the HTML source code of the vulnerable pages, something that anyone can do with two clicks on any modern browser.

I think a lot of yall are missing the point here so i’m gonna highlight it here:

The point is not “anarchism bad” or “anarchism is a psyop” if you read the article, you will see the FBI used Maoist papers as well

The point is “The FBI has a documented history of sewing division and exacerbating points of contention within the left in order to create conflict that either was not there previously or wasn’t nearly as serious”

It shouldn’t be news to yall that the intelligence agencies of capitalist powers don’t want the left united, strong, and concentrated towards their goals

Mostly likely an RFID tag. A simple unpowered device that emits a signal when excited by an external magnetic field.

The fun part is that RFID chips are incredibly easy to break, and incredibly easy to clone/copy. Imagine buying your drink, then intentionally burning out the rfid chip with an extra-strong electromagnetic field and raising a stink because the machine won’t give you what you paid for. Free meal vouchers, maybe? Better yet if you can get behind the counter and burn out the chips on every cup at once.

You could also buy a cup, then scan and clone the RFID tag, and see what kind of system they’re using to keep track of what cups have refills left and which ones don’t. I’d bet money that it wouldn’t be complex or hard to reverse-engineer, and then it’s as simple as spoofing the correct information to the RFID chip reader at the drink dispenser, and you get 8000 refills for the next 99999 hours or whatever.

It’s shitty and dystopian when companies do stuff like this, but fortunately they usually do it in a very stupid way that’s easily exploitable if you have the right know-how and some tools.
