Anyone else have the “Shake Hands With Danger” song playing in their heads?
For those unaware of this masterpierce, it’s from a 1980′s industrial safety training video, and it’s main character is named ‘Three Finger Joe.’
I’m just imagining some farmer trying to fix his combine in 2023, saying “I don’t know why it won’t work, it’s only 2 years old,” and then they open up the engine and the dusty hand bones of a middle manager fall out.
Things are going great over there!
It’s day 1 and salary workers are joking about forming their own union, this is great stuff.

So yeah. Good luck manufacturing anything with people who don’t know what they’re doing and no one willing to deliver anything to your facilities.
(Also, if you’re local to any of these strikes and want to know what you can do to help, the guy whose tweets are shown on this thread, Jonah Furman, is with Labor Notes, and he has stuff on his Twitter about it — mainly things like ordering pizzas for the picket line and such.)

Remember this everytime you see people attack retailers during riots and strikes. If you’re compelled to cry about ‘looters’, stop and shut your goddamn mouth instead.
