Prints from Matt Talbot’s solo show are available at Gallery 1988. Most of these Archie Comics-inspired pieces are sold out, but they’re too good not to share.
The exhibit includes artwork inspired Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, The Thing, They Live, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Shining, Scream, The Witch, Midsommar, and It Follows (below).
Either this organization of injustice with its entire machine of oppressive laws and privileged institutions, must disappear, or else the proletariat is condemned to eternal slavery. i think people are mistaking the point of dystopian literature as “trying to imagine a worse world” rather than “trying to point out how fucked up our world is right now”
When a Dystopian author predicted something, it’s not that they had hyper awareness or a supernatural divination talent, but that they saw a problem, went “look at that, it’s going to go very bad if we don’t do something”
and then no one listened.
