Just like in “My Bloody Valentine”, the uniform looks great. Especially these lace-up gaiters. Very stylish. I wanna sew the same ones.

Killer’s face, covered with cloth, looks both eerie and funny. He’s like some kind of cryptid or a toy with size of man. Even more comicity adds his weapon - a pitchfork. Dude just carries hefty pitchforks all over town! By the way, slogan of the film sounds like “You don’t need a chainsaw to have a massacre”.

And, of course, music creates a special mood. Not only beautiful and ominous melodies, but also sudden transitions from murder scenes to romantic peaceful music. Maybe it was meant to create contrast and tension, but made me laugh instead

1981:  Was the peak of the Golden Age of Slasher Films.

This year saw the releases of some of the genre’s most important flicks, including The Burning, My Bloody ValentineThe Prowler. and Happy birthday to me (and many others).
