“The less you eat, drink and buy books; the less you go to the theatre, the dance hall, the public house; the less you think, love, theorise, sing, paint, fence, etc., the more you save – the greater becomes your treasure which neither moths nor rust will devour – your capital. The less you are, the less you express your own life, the more you have, i.e., the greater is your alienated life, the greater is the store of your estranged being.”

Texas gave up that land so they could keep slavery:

“When Texas sought to enter the Union in 1845 as a slave state, federal law in the United States, based on the Missouri Compromise, prohibited slavery north of 36°30’ parallel north. Under the Compromise of 1850, Texas surrendered its lands north of 36°30’ latitude.”

Lamb (2021) dir. Valdimar Jóhannsson

Da fuck is this

A very strange foreign drama wherein a rural couple finds a baby sheep/human hybrid, and decide to raise it as their own. It ends very poorly.

poorly in the situation way, or movie way?

Well…the sheep mother (father was like some kind of humanoid sheep demon?) won’t leave the couple alone to the point the wife kills it, and the demon father ends up killing the husband and taking the lamb at the end. And the wife has pretty much gone nuts.

There’s another guy that at first doesn’t like and tries to kill the lamb, but you can see above he couldn’t bring himself to do it. I forget what else happens with him, but I think he’s killed, too.

In any case, the little sheep child in the coat is adorable.

Hi! I love this blog. I'm doing my own research (for my own interest) about the book of the dead, and I'm wondering is there any site or a book where there are hieroglyphic versions of the spells? I found the translations immediately, but not pictures of original spells. I'm not sure who to ask so I thought I'd start here!
