Maybe the reason the federal prison population has increased is ‘cause of the federal crimes committed on say… January 6th?
The increase was 264 people, so it’s very doubtful that it was just them.
Especially as the decline in prior years have been about 8000 people each year. If the trend was continuing as it had been, then we’re looking at about over 8k~ more people coming in to replace the losses of people going out.
