…  This is the same Robert Regan, by the way, whose own daughter, Stephanie Regan, tweeted in 2020, “If you’re in Michigan and 18+ pls for the love of god do not vote for my dad for state rep. Tell everyone,” according to The Hill. (And it looks like her followers listened — he lost that race.) The next day she added, “I don’t feel safe rn sharing further information regarding his beliefs, but please look him up and just read for yourself.” It appears that her Twitter account no longer exists.  …

“86 Voltz: The Dead Girl”

Written by Michael Avon Oeming and Brian J.L. Glass

Art and cover by Michael Avon Oeming

2005

A very good although ignored graphic novel that would have made for a good on-going series. It tells the story of a girl reanimated by only 86 Volts of electricity. Thus her name: 86 Volts. She awakens from death with no memories and no voice. She realizes that she is endowed with the ability to generate and manipulate vast amounts of electricity. She will need them, and help from a mysterious spirit guide, to defeat an evil supernatural menace.

The character is literally a blank slate and must find her way through the world of the living. Her origin and powers make her sort of a combination of Frank from Mike Allred’s “Madman” and the Superman villain Livewire (who like her Batman counterpart Harley Quinn crossed over from the animated TV show to the comics and the regular DC comics continuity.).

I hope that Image comics and the creative team revisit this idea and this character. It would make a great companion comic to the likes of “Hellboy”, “Madman” and “The Astounding Wolf-Man” with its mix of super hero tropes and gothic horror elements.

  • Hertz files an average of 3,365 police reports about stolen vehicles involving its customers each year.
  • That means over the past seven years, theft charges have been levied against more than 23,000 people.
  • This lawsuit has 230 plaintiffs who have spent a total of 2,742 days in jail or prison because of false arrests.
  • Some took plea deals, admitting to stealing cars they didn’t steal
  • Hertz has been falsely reporting customers for at least seven years
  • Hertz admitted in a different lawsuit in 2017 that police reports didn’t always have correct info and they do not correct information they know is false. That is, when “stolen” cars are found on Hertz’s lots, they’re not updating anyone on that fact.
  • This is an ongoing issue. People are finding out they have warrants out for them in 2022.
  • Evidence ignored. Felonies, evictions, families separated, jailtime served, jobs lost. Lives ruined by this stupid fucking car rental company.
  • And yes, Hertz went bankrupt and yes it’s trying to use that fact to block more of their victims from suing them.

Cancel all reservations you have with Hertz Rent-A-Car and never use their services again, unless you want to wind up in jail for something you didn’t do
