Except it’s not. That’s literally not what’s happening. Exxon is working with the government. It’s not being undermined. It’s not our government. It’s working exactly as intended.
The Idaho House of Representatives on Tuesday passed legislation to make it a crime punishable by life in prison for a parent to seek out gender-affirming health care for their transgender child.
The bill is among 29 pieces of Republican-backed legislation nationwide proposed so far this year to curtail health care for transgender youth, and it coincides with dozens of additional bills seeking to limit what can be discussed about gender identity and sexual orientation in schools and restrict transgender athletes in school sports.
But LGBTQ advocates and legal experts say the Idaho proposal differs by criminalizing cases of transgender children traveling to other states to obtain certain medical procedures.
“We are seeing the severity of those policies start to really ramp up,” said Sam Ames, director of advocacy and government affairs at The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization that focuses on preventing suicide in the LGBTQ population.
On this day, 11 March 1975, there was an attempted far right coup in Portugal, known as the March 11 Intentona. This happened in the context of the revolutionary period that Portugal which began with the fall of the right-wing dictatorship on 25 April 1974.
After the resignation of president António Spínola in September 1974, a left-wing government took power headed by prime minister and Communist Party-sympathiser, Vasco Gonçalves. Seeking to reverse the growing radicalisation of the revolution, Spínola led an attempted military coup, which failed due to the massive popular support of the MFA (Movement of the Armed Forces), a movement of soldiers and junior officers that overthrew the dictatorship. After the failed coup, Spínola was forced to flee to Franco’s Spain. In the cars of the Spinolist officers, massive amounts of money and cheques were found, signed by Espirito Santo (bankers of BES) and António Champalimaud, the richest man in Portugal at the time, with a fortune of around 9 billion euro (in 2020 equivalent), half of the Portuguese GDP in 1974.
This counterrevolutionary threat, financed by the Portuguese capitalist class and supported by the Spanish and Brazilian military dictatorships, further spurred the revolution. Workplace and land takeovers accelerated under the slogan “land to those who work on it” and compelled Vasco Gonçalves, in cooperation with unions and the workers, to order the nationalisation of almost 70% of the Portuguese economy, including the financial empires of the Espirito Santo and Champalimaud families, who fled to Brazil where they also possessed vast wealth. During the attempted coup one soldier died and 15 people were injured during the bombing of a military garrison near the Lisbon airport.

DAYUM with her recent response to Disney’s homophobic sponsorship, it seems like even Dana is doubting the mouse here! We were told TOH was cut short because of its serialization and not for the gay people, but at this point it really looks as if it’s probably both, and Disney has made it harder to think otherwise! This really is a final straw for us, and after trying so hard to give them the public benefit of the doubt, having to do damage-control to save Disney’s face, it seems everyone is just… done with Disney’s lies and coverup stories.
Dana obviously didn’t outright air the possibility of TOH being cut short for homophobic reasons because the show was earlier in production and we didn’t know about the funding, but now? All bets are practically off, Dana’s even admitted that she’s not sure how she can settle the moral quandary of working for such a terrible company, so I can fully understand if she quits once TOH finishes. That means we probably won’t see any spin-offs or a young Eda prequel series like Dana had hoped, but honestly… I wasn’t getting my hopes up, as much as I want it; Even if Dana kept working, I doubt Bob Chapek would want to touch such a queer franchise with even a fifty-foot pole.
And with Season 2B right around the corner and the Season 3 movies being wrapped up, it really does seem like Dana is just itching for her resignation! Good for her, and it’s nice to see Dana feel emboldened to speak how she really thinks of the situation; No more playing Mr. Nice Guy, no more benefit of the doubt after this! She’s taken too much shit from Disney and is fighting back, I love it. Really, you couldn’t even call it an ‘assumption’ that Disney was being homophobic, just a fully reasoned and logical deduction!
